March Triathlon Series

March Triathlon Series is an two-distance race held annually in Arroyo Grande, CA. With the instability of the events visual brand due to race directors and designers changing on a yearly basis, their brand needed to be kept in line with previous year’s assets, but also be flexible enough to change.

MTS Rebranding

The MTS rebrand represents the race with its location and competitive nature. Taking surveys of the host team and race directors I pulled together core principles, and from that a logo, colors, and visual assets. Using colors and a hard angle as a defining element, a visual style could be created by many future designers with a similar effect.


The race website was designed with the visual themes to feature information for potential racers. With a tiered navigation, pages could be linked for teams, sponsors, and volunteers while key info for athletes was organized on the home page.

Race Materials

The most anticipated designs each year are the race “swag” or the items racers get for participating or winning. Working across multiple print mediums, postcards, shirts, race numbers, bags, and medals were designed with the MTS brand shown prominently.
